This week’s featured tablescape highlights a timeless Black Tie Affair theme. What really makes this design stand out are the details in the embossed satin and the elegant color palette. We used our Ivory rose patterned embossed satin tablecloths topped with a golden table runner to bring the table to life. The color combination we chose was black, ivory, and gold to capture a chic yet exquisite look. To dress up the table we utilized pearls, white roses, and bow-tie folded napkins. The table also features our new black charger plates as a balance to the napkins and our black candle lantern centerpiece.
We found this great and thorough bow-tie napkin tutorial from Southernliving.com. They made it super easy to follow and it only took a few minutes to have them done. We used our black polyester napkins with the same gold ribbon used for the ribbon wrapped tea lights.
Ribbon Wrapped Tea Lights
We wanted to make sure to include a lot of candle light sources to compliment the theme, so to add a unique touch to plain candles we simply dressed up the tea lights with ribbon. It’s a very easy project that can be done by any DIY enthusiast! All you’ll need is a pack of tea lights, a hot glue gun, and ribbon ( We used 9.5 mm x 2.7 m gold ribbon, but any ribbon is fine as long as it fits along the edge of the tea light). Once you have the materials all you need to do is measure out the ribbon to fit and glue it around the edges. It’s very simple and an affordable way to make even the smallest details look fancy, plus there are plenty of ribbon options to match any sort of tablescape theme that you’re trying to create.
This formal tablescape is perfect for weddings, engagement parties, and even banquet dinners! Because most of the tablescape consists of neutral colors it’s easy to switch up the color palette by simply replacing the gold tone with another. Make sure to comment below and let us know what you think!
