We were not prepared to be blown away by each and every wedding photo that Audrey and Robert Batiste of Texas shared on our Facebook Wall last week. More by the overwhelming Likes and Shares that until this very moment would keep coming in!
Well, what’s not to like? The couple’s creative hand in this event obviously granted the overall theme the glam kick it needed. All the stylish touches in this wedding seemed to have been made to happen by a magic wand. From elegant tablecloths, chair covers and satin sashes to the wedding cake and all the small details, everything came together for the couple Des and Drail’s most memorable day. But guess what? You would never have noticed that this is Robert and Audrey’s first venture in special event and party planning! What’s more interesting was, they wanted to go all-out on all wedding decors but had to work things out within a certain budget!
For this particular wedding in Alexandria, LA, the wedding palette called for something pretty, romantic and sweet. Dubbed “A Sundae Kind of Love,” the bride and groom picked white and pink to channel sweetness and the color of beige to take care of the champagne look. With the help of Aunt Audrey and Uncle Robert, they were able to create an event theme that’s reminiscent of a Sunday afternoon carefree walk at the park and getting ice cream treats at the corner as the culmination of the stroll. Audrey took care of the color coordination, concept visualization and had her thoughts captured on paper. And Robert worked on the biggest surprise! For a wedding this meaningful to him, he went as far as actually customizing an ice cream cart for the wedding! He definitely knew how to put “WOW” in special events!
Another successful DIY Wedding story with a little help from relatives who, needless to say, knew how to luxe for less!

From the Wedding Planners:
“A little about the couple. Their names are Rondrail and Desmond McQuain and they live in Alexandria, Louisiana. They have been together since 2006 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2012. The theme of the wedding was “A Sundae Kind of Love.” On their wedding day, the moment the couple walked in, the look on their face was priceless! Their reaction upon seeing the reception hall for the first time was ‘Oh my goodness! This is unbelieveable! All our dreams came true… it’s BEAUTIFUL’ and my husband’s mailbox and ice cream cart that day were a huge hit.” – R & A Batiste, audrey_batiste@yahoo.com | 254-780-2996

The wedding planners did an excellent job on this wedding. Its kinda hard 2 beleive it was their first time planning such an event. I will definitely keep them in mind for any special events in the future. Whether for me, a family member or a frind. The pictures are w/o words spoken. Great work.
