Fall is here! We thought now would be the perfect time to share some of our favorite fall wedding inspiration and trends that are sure to stick around for awhile. This inspiration encompasses everything we love about the fall harvest- warming up from the chill of the changing seasons, hayrides, the smells of our favorite autumn foods, and all of the brilliant warm autumn colors seen in the falling leaves and the bounty of the fresh harvest. If you are thinking about hot apple cider, sit back and relax in your favorite over-sized sweater and get ready for some amazing autumn ideas!!
1. Cowgirl Boots
We love the charm of cowgirl boots paired with a wedding or bridesmaid dress- the perfect marriage of rustic charm and classic elegance!
2. Barn Venue
There is no better time for a rustic barn wedding than in the fall. There are endless autumn elements that can be brought to life in the rustic ambiance of a barn.
3. Hand Painted Signs & Chalkboards
Handmade wood signs and chalkboards make the perfect customized decor piece for a fall wedding! Some of the creative ways that they can be used include directional signs like the one below (gorgeous!), food and drink menus, and lovely little “Mr. & Mrs.” signs to adorn the bride and groom’s chairs. You can expect to see a whole array of signs coming soon to the website!
No matter what flowers you choose for your wedding wheat is a splendid accent during the fall season! It can stand alone, or even better – paired with Lavender, Roses, or Baby’s Breath. It makes an amazing addition to a bouquet and works flawlessly for a centerpiece or chair accent.
5. Warm Drinks
Adorable beverage bars at weddings are all the rage right now. One of our absolute favorites are warm drink bars! Everyone loves a good cup of hot apple cider, smooth coffee, hot tea, and rich cocoa! Guests will feel like they are snuggled up at home during your wedding reception with this delightful idea. Just don’t forget the cinnamon sticks, caramel syrup, marshmallows, and sugar cubes to go with it!
6. Branches, Wood Cookies, and Pine Cones
These rustic fall decor items paired with beautiful lighting will make guests feel like they stepped into an enchanted forest! We love them because they bring such an earthy and rural vibe to events. We actually love them so much that we will soon be carrying each of these decor items on our website (subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates)!
When throwing a fall wedding you can’t forget to have food that contains at least one of the following ingredients: apples, pumpkins, and of course CARAMEL! The oozing caramel in your mouth, crisp crunch of an apple, and soothing texture of pumpkin pie are just some of the reasons guests will be reminiscing about your big day for months after!
Pumpkins are so plentiful this time of year in an array of colors and sizes, how can you resist using them as part of your autumn wedding decor! Mini pumpkins can be part of a centerpiece arrangement, used as a place card holder, a candle holder, or even placed on the center of each plate. Larger pumpkins are a perfect accent piece for a rustic barn wedding paired with bales of hay.
9. Foliage Decorated Cakes
How stunning is this cake?! It’s so beautifully detailed that you almost don’t want to eat it. “Woodsy” decorated cakes adorned with autumn leaves are perfect for any fall event. The “carved” initials are the perfect finishing touch! Large wood “cookies” (coming soon, by the way) are the newest trend we have noticed everywhere. We see them as cake stands, (as seen in this photo) centerpiece stands, and in so many other decorative ways.
10. Warm Color Palettes
Last but not least, the bold and brilliant, yet warm and inviting Autumn colors we all love. The color palettes of fall are soft and exude vibrancy at the same time. Bold purples, rich reds, crisp oranges, chocolate browns, vivid golds. All of these colors absolutely radiate fall, they just make us want to jump in a huge pile of fallen leaves!
