Back in early January it became obvious to us that garden themed, foliage-rich weddings were one of the wedding trend predictions for 2015 that we could count on. With more leafy green runners and beautiful outdoor settings popping up everywhere this year, we’re thrilled to be able to give our customers our own rendition of a Secret Garden tablescape.
As part of a photo shoot for our upcoming catalog we had the opportunity to set this gorgeous table up in a beautiful green Oregon setting. This brought the tablescape together and makes it simple to envision the design in an peaceful outdoor venue.
We took our inspiration for the table design from a Royal Garden Color palette post we did a while back, featuring green, beige, and rich purple. To create this palette on a table we started with our stunning beige Shantung Silk tablecloth, these linens are a unique style of silk with a crisper and subtle lined texture that really elevates the luxuriousness of this tablescape.
With this tablescape we’re also very excited to announce that we’ll be expanding our collection of silk flowers in the near future to provide beautiful realistic styles and colors to our customers, including these fabulous rose runners you see here! This centerpiece was actually a simply braid of 3 single colored strands, two purple and one white, and we think the combination of those with the green leaves create a stunning contrast to the beige Shantung silk tablecloth.
To incorporate a little more dimension to our table we accented the long runner with 2 different styles of lanterns. We utilized two 10 in. White Vintage bird cage lanterns, placed in within the runner on either edge, and chose the 7 in. White Standing Vintage Lantern for a different shape and style for the very center.
To complete the look of this table, we used white paper doilies instead of chargers to accent our place settings. We think these are an adorable way to reinforce the outdoor secret garden feel of this table. To compliment the rich purple of the runner, we added purple napkins, with a classic fold chosen to compliment the simplistic and relaxed atmosphere this tablescape would create. Finally add small accents like we did with our 2 peas in a pod salt and pepper shakers that are a sweet way to elevate the garden theme.
With that you’ll have a beautiful and romantic Secret Garden Shantung Silk Tablescape, perfect for outdoor venues in the spring or summer. For more ideas see our Garden Wedding Inspiration Board!
